   I’m optimizing a site which have multiple domain names hosting from the same IP for different languages. Now the other domain name is redirecting to the main domain name. I want to optimize all domains for search engines. Beside the main domain, other domains are not indexed by the search engines yet. What sort of extra task to be made to index all the domains from the same IP address?

     Well if you are trying to get your websites that are in another language indexed for that country then you might want to look into hosting that website from that country. Lets say one of your sites is in Italian and you want it to rank on Google.it then you will want to actually host that website.it domain name in italy so you can rank better on there search engine. This way you are targeting the correct audience for that specific language. I wouldn’t want to target the US if I have a site that is in all Italian.

     The search engines look at the IP address of the website, so if they are all hosted in the US then you do not stand as good a chance of competing with that Italian website that is hosted in Italy. It falls down to geo targeting, so you want to target the correct audience for the correct domain name you are using.

     No, since there’s probably at least one address added every second of every day, no computer would be able to keep a list of every single address that’s no longer working. (And some of them are only temporarily not resolving. When they come back online they’ll start resolving again.)

     If you’re maintaining a DNS server, pruning is automatic – as addresses die they’re pruned off, as addresses come online they’re added.

      I would keep the one domain as your main one, which is obviously what you do anyway. With the others, I would use them for inbound one-way links – create splash-pages in which all the navigation points to your main site – optimise the pages for SEO

    This is a question from the study guide (for the first test of the semester) in my microbiology class. I thought Bacteria was a domain, along with Archaea and Eukarya.       Bacteria are only found in the domain Bacteria.

      I think that your teacher meant to ask which two of the three domains contain prokaryotes, which are Bacteria and Archaea. The domain Bacteria consists of true bacteria while the domain Archaea consists of bacteria-like prokaryotes. Archaea used to be instead called “Archaebacteria,” but upon discovery that the members of this domain were not truly bacteria, the name was changed.

      The prokaryotes within the domain Archaea are called “archaea,” just as those in Bacteria are called “bacteria,” so, as would be expected, only the latter contains bacteria.

      *Yup, it really is one or the other: bacteria are only in the domain Bacteria, and archaea are only in the domain Archaea. The prokaryotes bacteria and archaea are similar, but they are very distinct from one another.

      Best bet would be to file a support ticket with them and ask them to explain. Could be a simple mix up.

    I have my eye on some domain names that are expiring very soon which I am keen to get hold of. They are not major domains just a couple which will be valuable to my niche.

      Look for a domain registrar that offers this as a service. The best would be the domain registrar where the domain is registered, if they offer this service. There is no software that you can run on your computer to do this. The domain registrar has the access to the database that you need to take over a domain that expires. In essence, you open a account with the registrar, then you pay in advance, and then IF the domain is not renewed by the current owner, the registrar will apply for it as soon as it expires. If more than one registrar want the same domain, it is first come, first served…

      Yes, but shop wisely while choosing your web host. Some hosts claim to be selling unlimited of everything. Unlimited bandwidth, disk space, domains, etc. There is no magical server with unlimited resources, so this is nothing but a marketing lie. They write in very small letters in their TOS that if you use “too much server resources” your account will be suspended. I find this kind of business very indecent.

      If you host your clients sites on your account, they will not have access to those accounts without going into your file structure. Even though they can be limited to their own files, you will have to add them as add-on domains, which add folders under yours.

      Reseller accounts allow you to create totally separate accounts for your clients, with their own file space and logins. If they break any of the hosting rules, only their site will be shut down, instead of yours and all those added onto your account.

      Are you stating or asking something?

      If a user changes his password on one domain it doesn’t change the password in the other domain, unless you use a Single Sign On (SSO) software.
      SSO synchronizes the user’s password with his/hers account in both domains, eliminating to need to sign on twice.

      Don’t know about that, but you can use the WHOis lookup at www.123cheapdomains.com to see who owns certain websites.

    I own two web domains that one redirects to the other one. Should I get more domains to increase SEO ranking?
    I have two real estate domains. However, one domain redirects immediately to the other one. I want this real estate site to be successful and bring in more leads for the company. Will it help if I buy another catchy domain names and redirects the content to the same one?

      Work on your main site. Content is king.

      Real estate is a hard market, especially now. Find your niche and concentrate on that. If your area is Mayberry, South Carolina then concentrate on that area. Write articles about that area and what people may like about it. Then get links to those articles and your website. Use good title tags and don’t spam.

48. QUESTION:
    if i ordered a couple of domains on Godaddy yesterday and I want to cancel and get a refund, is this possible?
    I ordered 4 domains and I don’t want any of them! Is there a period where I can get a refund and cancel the domains? I only ordered yesterday night.

      You are supposed to have a 5 day period to cancel. You should be able to see the cancellation feature within your account when you log in. I would recommend you call them to cancel to make sure it gets cancelled.

    Is it possible to use hosting for two different domains?
    If I bought a simple hosting package would it be possible to use the hosting for two different domains?

      Yes, it is possible, I do it with domain names I have through godaddy.com. They have a service that they call domain forwarding. I put the other sites into a subfolder of the main site, and then the second domain name just points there.

    What are the three domains in organism classification?
    I know one of the domains is Eukarya (it says in my science book) ut I can’t find the other two. Please tell me them!
