Cheapest Domain Name Registrar

No domain name will last forever without having it renewed. When you initially register a domain name, you will probably think have to figure out how it will be renewed when it gets expired. Many domain registration companies would offer you the chance of automatic renewal ,a service agreement that’s mostly signed when your domain name is being registered. However, the truth is that many people would better leave it and renew when the right times comes or when they desire to have it renewed.

However, when there is real need to have your domain name renewed, would it not be great if you go for the cheaper options that would offer you great value for your money? Many companies or domain registration firms would offer you real package that will make you pay a certain amount of money and take advantage of the discounts that are on offer. You can also opt to pay for your annual subscription and have everything taken care of including hosting and maintenance of your site and also emails. This is a service that should be taken advantage of by every person who understands what actually is going on.

Cheap domain renewal would help you do some many other things that would not have become possible if you would have gone for other options that are in the market. However, by choosing the cheap service you will just be choosing affordability but not poor service of quality hence it’s very important that you have your questions answered by the company concerned and also looking at the customer reviews before you decide to enter into a domain name renewal contract.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
who is cheapest domain name registrar for .com extension (less than )?

    • ANSWER:
i checked out yahoo domains, they r up for @ -10 and not

      netfirms.com does it for .95..
      dont know about their support…

if any of u are aware about cheaper than netfirms, please post it here

  2. QUESTION:
Which is the best UK domain name registrar? Can I just go for the cheapest?
A bit confused at all the different sites and prices to register my domain name. Can anyone advise?

    • ANSWER:
First of all, you appear to be on the right track by distinguishing the difference between hosting and a domain registrar. I use different providers depending on what I need.
I wrote an article about it here:

      http://www.livewyre.net/cheapwebhosting.php

I use GoDaddy for dot coms
1and1 internet for dot co dot uk
and Webhostingpad for hosting unlimited mutliple domains all in one package
The important questions to ask about domain registration are:
      1) What sort of controls do I get over my domain – ie. how good is the ‘dashboard’, is it easy to change the DNS settings myself without having to get in touch?
      2) What sort of email do I get with the domain? – 1and1 offer free forwarding, but if you want to run a full email interface, you will have to pay extra.
As far as I know 1and1 offer as cheap a deal as anyone out there, and you get good control over your settings (at least it works well for what I need). Be careful of introductory offers where you get three months free or some such deal, as you could end up paying more in the long run.
Companies like Webhostingpad often offer one main domain for free included in the package, but not all will be happy to take on a UK domain as they have to work out a deal with nominet in order to register it.

  3. QUESTION:
What’s a good and cheap domain name service registrar?
    Hi,

I’m after a particular domain name. Price varies quite a lot depending on which registrar I look up. Godaddy.com seems to offer okay deals at about US per year for a .com, .net or .org. At the end of the day I guess they all report to ICANN.

What’s a good, cheap registrar to go for?

(I do not need fancy web hosting services. I only need the domain name to direct all traffics to my own computer where further actions can take place).

    Thanks.

    • ANSWER:
Yeah, Godaddy is the largest registrar.

You can get it for .49 + [FAQ-ANSWER].18 ICANN fee from http://www.webhostingtable.com

  4. QUESTION:
Can I register a domain name with a cheap registrar and transfer it to another hosting company? Pros and cons?
I’ve decided on a particular hosting serivce which charges exorbitant domain name registration fees. I’m wondering if I can save on the domain registration fee by signing up with a cheaper registrar and then transferring it to the hosting service of my choice, and if there are any costs and downsides in this.

    • ANSWER:
Yes you can. I even recommend it!

      PRO’s

      1. If you found a domain name registrar you like you should go with them. It’s even better if it’s their core business.
      2. It’s really easy to setup. You just have to add your hosts name servers to your domain name (basically you just write three lines in your domain’s control panel like: ns1.somehosting.com ns2.somehosting.com ns3.somehosting.com) and that’s it!
      3. Your domain name is registered with another company so if you have any problems later on with your hosting, you can easily switch hosts, just copy your site content to a new host and point your domain to their name servers.

      CON’s

      1. Most hosting companies give you a free domain name with your hosting plan, and they usually renew it for free as long as you host with them, but since your company charges a lot for a domain name registration it’s probably not one of them, so it’s not a problem.

P.S. You didn’t wrote the name of a hosting company that you decided on, but you should check one of these:

      1. For a small to medium traffic site (like up to 100K visitors monthly):
I recommend either Godaddy Economy or the Deluxe plan:

      http://www.hosttell.com/godaddy/

      (prices from .74/month – .99/month)

      or Dreamhost http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html

Their standard price is .95/month (9.40/year)
but you can use the promo code PLUS and get
      discount +2 Free domain names.

      Disk space: Unlimited
      Bandwidth: Unlimited
      2 Free domain names
      Unlimited domains and subdomains
      Price: .78/month (.40/year)

      2. If you need something better/more expensive I recommend:

      http://www.mediatemple.com

      http://www.slicehost.com

      Prices start from /month.

  10. QUESTION:
Is it ok for a foreigner to register domain name via a UK domain registrar?
I am a foreigner who needs to register domain names, I believe normally one would do this via a domain name registrar from their own country, but internet research tells me for certain domain extension, it is cheaper to register from a registrar from foreign countries, such as USA or UK. For a while, I wanted to register domain names via GoDaddy.com which is an American domain registrar, but in registering, I am asked to input my bank information from a US bank which I do not have.(and I selected to pay via PayPal instead of otherwise), since I do not have one US bank account, at last I gave up registering via GoDaddy, but I still want to give it a try via some reliable UK registrar.

Before doing do, I want to find out if it is ok for my case to register via a UK registar.
Besides, could everybody recommend a few really reliable UK registrars with good reputation.

    Thank everybody in advance.

    • ANSWER:
      Hi,

The registry operators for domain names in the UK is Nominet. These are the people that basically set the rules on UK domain registrations.

The co.uk SLD is a fully open domain, meaning that anyone in any country can register a co.uk domain. The details are on Nominet’s website: http://www.nominet.org.uk/registrants/aboutdomainnames/sld/co.uk/

Additionally, as far as registrars are concerned, do some Googling on opinions, but these are two favourites:

      UKReg (http://www.ukreg.com/)
      123Reg (http://www.123-reg.co.uk/)

      Hope that helps.

  15. QUESTION:
Cheap domain names. With email and other great features! What’s the best cheapest register?
I need a domain name for my website.

I looked at them, but don’t know which is a great registrar.
I want the normal extensions like .com .net .info. .org
It would be nice if the had 5 or more sub-domain names.
I would like email with at least 1gb each mailbox.

    The cheapest they can get.

    What’s the best?

    Thanks

    • ANSWER:
When you buy a domain it will have all the features a domain has to offer. What features you get depends on the web host you select.

You can buy a domain for around 10 dollars, but a domain is useless unless you also buy hosting for that domain. — Most of the time this is two separate processes.

  16. QUESTION:
Can anyone recommend some trustable domain name registrars from UK & USA with good reputation.?
Reliability & reputation is what I am looking for.
As for domain registration price, it is ok if it is not the cheapest out there, as long as it is trustable.

If you happen to have some experience and/or knowledge in this, it would be greatly appreciated if you could kindly share it.

    Thanks in advance!

    • ANSWER:
http://www.LocoDomains.com has the best deals and service

  17. QUESTION:
Where can I find cheaper domain name registration with the features I need?
I’m currently using 123cheapdomains.com, which charges .95 a year per domain, which doesn’t include any kind of whois protection. I was wondering if anybody knows where I can find registration for cheaper that will include the following:

    * Whois protection of some kind.
    * Point to an IP address (which I would think is a given)
    * Allow me to specify MX records.
    * CNAME pointing.
    * Nameserver changing.

Every domain registrar might let you change the above options, I really don’t know. But I figured including them couldn’t hurt. What I don’t need is hosting of any kind. I just want to point my domain to my IP address.

So should I stick with what I’ve got, which doesn’t include the whois protection, or is there somewhere else that will do all that I need for less than .95? I’ve checked around, but everywhere I go seems to be rather shady, so I’m hoping somebody has some experience. The ability to pay with PayPal would also be helpful, but not required.

    Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
Domain Name registration in My Webbie Hosting.com costs only .50/yr. They also have Whois protection service as an upgrade, which costs /yr. Their customers also have the ability to control the MX record, CNAME, and DNS of their domain name.

Besides, if you purchase a webhosting plan, domain name registration is free.

  18. QUESTION:
Does anyone know why yahoo Domain Name’s are so cheap?
I think that other Domain Name registrars charge a minimum of around .00 per month. Why does Yahoo charge .99 per year to registar a Domain Name? Is there something wrong with there service? Or is there some small print somewhere that I’m not seeing?

    • ANSWER:
Just the first domain is 1.99 the next domains that u will buy will cost the average price. It is a marketing solution for selling many domains. Remember that this is the price only for the first year and only for one domain.

  19. QUESTION:
    Domain Names?
I checked with whois.com and saw that my domain name is already expired I don’t want to renew with my current registrar because they are overpriced, how come I can’t register/renew my domain name with other registrars if it is already expired?

Also is it possible to register my domain name with 1 company and have it hosted by another company?? because I want to go with the company that offers the cheapest domain name registration fees and those that offer the cheapest hosting fees

Is it possible to come up with my own domain name registration and web hosting site (not a reseller)

If I have intermediate knowledge in computer (I am not a computer programmer) – can I be a web host reseller? I understand the business concept but if technical problems arises I wouldn’t know how to solve it.

    • ANSWER:
If your domain name is in the expiration process you can not transfer registrars. This is an ICANN rule not the registrars. If you want the name renew it as quickly as possible before it completes the expiration process and becomes available for anyone to register.

After you have renewed the name you can transfer it to any registrar you want.

Yes it is possible and very common to register your domain name with one company and have it hosted by another.

To establish your own domain name registration and web hosting site (not a reseller) is possible however it would be very expensive.

To become a reseller is easy and requires no technical knowledge, the company you are selling for will provide all the customer service and tech support. You are basically promoting their products and services and receiving a commission on sales.

  22. QUESTION:
English natives! Does this texts need to be edited before publishing online? Thanks in advance?
    Hi all,
I want to set these texts as the title and description of my website pages for search engines. I don’t want to change them if they don’t include any grammatical errors. The keywords which are used are very very important to me, because people use them for finding the websites like mine. So I more prefer not to change them. I know using some of them is not correct from view point of “technical phrases”, such as “domain name generator”. But I want to use them because some beginners use them on the web. Just if there are any unusual sentences which seem wrong help me modify. Please take into consideration I have limitation in using the number of words! So don’t try to tell a story!

Hope my text doesn’t need any major changes. Thank you in advance!

“Cheapest Domain Registrar – Get your url like www.name.com”

i would change that to “Get a URL like www.name.com.”

also, the “Free” in the second paragraph under the descriptions should be lower-case – “free,” since it’s not a name of something, nor is it a proper noun.

      other than that, it’s fine.

  23. QUESTION:
    domain name registeration?
Who are the cheapest,RELIABLE and no-strings attached domain registrars??I know yahoo etc make you buy hosting for their rate, but what other service is good?I have not heard anything positive about GO-DADDY although they are cheap…any others???

    • ANSWER:
I use godaddy.com. I’ve had no problems with them. Everything that I have experienced on their website seems easy enough. Also www.1and1.com is one that I have used before. No complaints there either.

  24. QUESTION:
Is there such thing as a free or very cheap private registration service for domain names?
Private registration costs too much if you want to apply privacy to a large portfolio of domain names. Is there a solution? The registrar that I use charges .95 a year per domain name. I have close to 200 domain names. It costs me a lot to renew my domain names already. I don’t want to be paying so much for privacy too.
By the way, I use GoDaddy, their private registration is too expensive. Sometimes they have deals, but not too often. Usually privacy will cost just as much as registering a new domain name. So, I’m ruling out GoDaddy for privacy.

      Yahoo

    • ANSWER:
You can register your domain names with DomainPurpose.com.

  28. QUESTION:
Could someone who speaks Englisg as their first language tell me if this text needs to be edited? Thx?
    Important Tips:

1- As you’re registering your name, you will be presented with the option of adding Privacy to your domain registration. A private domain registration will keep your information (name, email address, etc.) out of the global Internet database, and will prevent a lot of spam from reaching your email box. It is highly recommended you select this option.

2- Avoid web hosts offering free domain. Try to register the name yourself, so that you can be sure that you are registered as the owner. If your web host places itself as the owner, they can always decide to not let you change your web hosting service. Especially if you are not happy with their hosting service it can be catastrophic! So don’t accept any free domain name and pay for it.

3- Don’t trust any cheap service. Some registrars are cheating and misleading their customers. For example if the price of a domain name is /year, they offer it for first year. But next years they charge to renew the domain name! On the other hand, many of cheap services don’t allow you to have full control on your domain name.

If you are looking for a safe and cheap service that works for you, GoldPuma.com is a reliable website to register your desired domain name. Their service is one of the lowest cost services on the web which is really full-featured and easy-to-use. They offer free extras with every domain name and you can check out their hot prices by going there.

    • ANSWER:
Looks quite good to me, but I do suggest some changes.

      Add a comma or two:

Especially if you are not happy with their hosting service, it can be catastrophic! (might want to eliminate especially, and change it to this)

For example, if the price of a domain name is /year, they offer it for first year.

Their service is one of the lowest cost services on the web, which is really full-featured and easy-to-use.

      And correct these sentences:

But next YEAR they charge to renew the domain name! On the other hand, many OF THE (or just eliminate OF altogether) cheap services don’t allow you to have full control OF your domain name.

      And, maybe rearrange this one:

THERE ARE free extras with every domain name REGISTERED. Go there and check out their hot prices!

      Hope that helps!
